Got out on the Mianus River before dark today. Beautiful sunny skies and a full moon peaking on the horizon. Saw a lot of the usual bug activity (midge, bwos) with exception to a couple big winter caddis. First time I have seen these bugs this year. Found small brownies rising in a slow tail out to what looked like a prolific midge hatch. Hooked two fish and landed a little brown in the 7 inch category. The activity began just before dark. All was quiet prior.
When in doubt set the hook on a rockfish. You never know.
